The power of brand storytelling

I help freelancers, business owners and entrepreneurs tell the story of their business through authentic imagery that reflect the identity of their brand.

Personal Branding vs. Brand Storytelling: What’s the Difference?

The difference is simple. Personal branding or lifestyle photography focuses on you—as the face of your business. It’s perfect for freelancers, entrepreneurs, and business owners who are at the forefront of their business.

Think of it like this: when you hear names like Oprah or Steven Bartlett, you immediately know who they are and what they stand for. That’s the power of strong personal branding. It helps people connect with you, understand your values, and trust your expertise—before you even say a word.

Brand storytelling photography focuses on you and your business as a whole. It’s about capturing authentic, behind-the-scenes moments that show what you do, how you do it, and who you do it with.

For example, if you’re a piano teacher, I might photograph you mid-lesson or playing the piano. If you’re a baker, we’ll capture the magic of you mixing, decorating, and presenting your delicious creations. And if you have a team, like a receptionist who greets your clients or a manager who supports your operations, they’re welcome to be part of the shoot too.

It’s all about creating visuals that reflect the experience and emotion behind your brand—so when people hear your business name, they immediately get a sense of who you are, what you stand for, and how it feels to work with you.

When you think about your business brand, the most important thing is to showcase its personality—because that’s what truly connects with people.

Ask yourself:

Your brand is more than a logo—it’s how people feel about you, remember you, and trust you.

The fact is, people who put so much time and effort into building their own business are absolutely passionate about the work that they do. So, let’s think about the brand of your business, and let’s focus on capturing the essence of your work – meaning the process, the emotions, the creativity, and everything else that makes your business unique. Having compelling visuals through which you will tell a story about your brand will help you connect with your ideal audience and build trusting relationships.

Catching-the-eye images that tell a story outperform generic visuals on social media, and besides everything, sharing your story is absolutely worth it. You never know who your story may resonate with.

I totally get it, you might have endless tasks on your list of things to do, and you might not have dedicated time to explore your business brand. If this is you, please do not worry. I will take you on this journey to discover your business brand. Together we can brainstorm ideas and capture evocative images that showcase everything associated with your brand, including emotions, colours and equipment that you use for your work.

My goal is to create storytelling images that do more than capture a moment – they spark connection, helping your ideal audience see themselves in your journey. In addition to that, you will have a library full of images that speak volumes about your business brand that you can pull from anytime to consistently show up on social media platforms, share your message, and finally reach the audience who needs to hear it most.

What it is like to work with me?

I understand that many business owners and leaders want to have a photographer who simply understands their business and is able to get the job done. That is why I take the time to research your business in detail and ask you to complete a questionnaire, so that I can discover as much information as possible about yourself and your business in advance of the photoshoot. I want to ensure that your photography session is tailored specifically to you and your business.

I am very approachable and genuinely have passion for photography. I believe in keeping things real, so no filter is needed in conversations with me, because that is what authenticity is (that’s just part of my European heritage!). Unlike many other photographers who are self-taught, I bring both professional training (with a Diploma in Professional Photography) and a real passion for connecting with people.

I would like to get to know you as a person, not just as a business owner. I am really looking forward to hearing your story and how and why you have decided to build your business, learning about your values and goals, as well as discovering what matters most to you. I like to be able to connect with you on a personal level, so that we can work together to create unique brand storytelling photographs that showcase the personality of your business.

If you feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, I absolutely understand that. Sometimes, it just does not come naturally to pose in front of the camera, especially if you are not someone who takes photos often. My sessions are interactive, relaxed, and often feel more like a conversation than a photoshoot. I do not take overly posed photographs, but occasionally I will guide you with some poses. Mostly, I take ‘in-action’ photos, meaning I will capture moments when you are not even looking directly at the camera, because I want you to be your authentic self.

I am happy to travel to your workplace or another location of your choice for the photoshoot. I am based in Nottingham, but happy to travel across the UK for the shoot.

However, I might not be the best fit as a photographer for your business if:
